New Conversations DC Metro 2016

We invite alumni, parents and friends to a Cooper Union New Conversations event at the Phillips Collection in Washington, DC on Sunday, November 13. Please join us for an afternoon of Cooper culture and a reception where Acting President Bill Mea will share updates about The Cooper Union.

Our gathering coincides with The Kin Series and Related Works exhibition at the Phillips featuring artwork by Cooper Union alumnus Whitfield Lovell, A’81. In his exquisitely crafted Kin series and related tableaux, Lovell combines freely drawn figures of anonymous African Americans with time worn objects from everyday life. Lovell’s poetic combinations cross cultural or racial boundaries in their exploration of identity, heritage, memory and our collective American past. The exhibition is open through January 8, 2017.
